Custom Options for your product listings

You may wish to use Custom Options to create those add-ons or extras that you would like to offer your customers on top of their purchase or for those purchases that require the customer to provide further information.
Think personalised card, gift wrapping, custom colours, personalisation such as names and more.
Like with most options its best to keep it simple for both you & your customers to avoid your product listing being too busy and overwhelming for your customers.
How to add Custom Options
Go to the bottom of the product listing screen to Custom Options then select Show Options
Then select Add Another option
Consider what you want to do before you start. Select your input type eg Text, Text area, toggle checkbox or dropdown. This will then allow extra options to become available for toggle checkbox & dropdown.
Note: You can have more than 1 custom option per product listing. Remember that the more options you have the more choices the customer is required to make during their purchase. Keep it simple.
Custom Options Explained
Text
Add Field name eg Name for Personalised Card
This allows just a small amount of space
Text Area
Add Field name eg Message for Personalised card
This option allows more space for the message
Toggle Checkbox
Toggle checkbox allows you to add an extra element that the customer can choose to add to their order. It can attract an extra dollar amount if you choose this option. Eg express shipping, gift wrapping , additional item such as a pom pom etc.
Dropdown
Dropdown allows you to have custom options that the customer can choose between. As its a dropdown they can only choose 1 option.

Tips and Hints
- Don't use symbols such as & - use and instead. Eg Gift wrapping and Personalised Card
- Ticking 'Keep the field mandatory for customers' means that the customer MUST enter this field before proceeding to cart - so be sure that this is only ticked when information is always required.
- Keep it simple - remember too many options can be overwhelming for your customers
